A common misconception in the fireplace industry is that Acucraft products are not tested, certified, listed, or come with labels. Well, that couldn’t be further from the truth!
Acucraft is the only custom fireplace manufacturer in the world with the ability to third party test and label every gas fireplace for our customers by partnering with a Third-Party Certification Body, LabTest Certification, Inc.
LabTest Certification, Inc.is a third-party certification body, testing laboratory, and inspection body who tests and certifies different kinds of products categories. LabTest provides product testing and certification to national and international standards in the areas of electrical, hazardous locations, EMC, gas, plumbing, marine, solar, energy efficiency, building materials, as well as environmental testing.
Founded in 2003, LabTest became an Accredited Certification Body / Testing Laboratory in 2007. Their headquarters is based in Delta, BC with two additional locations in Canada and the United States (Las Vegas, NV). With strategic partners worldwide, LabTest is able to provide local testing for international markets.
Acucraft has worked with LabTest for over 5 years for our testing and certification needs. In summer 2017 Acucraft officially partnered with LabTest and developed an approved in-house lab to test & certify fireplaces ourselves.
Our Third Party Certification testing can be done with any standard or custom gas fireplace and comes with a testing report & label listed with the third party ANSI Accreditation Agency. Every Acucraft fireplace is safety tested prior to leaving our factory. This test is similar to our Third Party Certification test but does not come with a label and is not a listed product.
What Types of Testing Do We Do?
Acucraft is authorized to conduct 3rd Party Certification testing to ANSI Z21.97 and Z21.50 standards; we are also able to test to Canadian standards CSA 2.41-2017 and CSA 2.22-2016. A label, full listing, and report is provided with every 3rd Party Certified fireplace.
Acucraft Factory Tests all custom and standard gas fireplaces before they are shipped to their final location. This test is very similar to the 3rd Party Certification testing but does not come with a label, listing or report.
