Acucraft Fireplace Welder

Position Overview – Welder (MIG) / Fabricator
We take pride in providing the highest quality products on the market, handcrafting every fireplace in our Big Lake, MN facility, where our employees are the backbone of the company. As a custom fireplace welder, you are an integral part of the production team, and responsible for building world class custom fireplace systems. Our fireplaces are built using heavy steel: 14 gauge to 3 (1/4”) gauge with all major seams being double welded, inside and out.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Wire feed welding (MIG) is primary welding technique required
- Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding
- Layout, position, align, and secure parts and sub-assemblies prior to final weld assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, rulers, and tape measures
- Ability to properly decipher blueprints
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly
- Must be physically able to stand for 8 – 10 hours/day
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years industry experience in welding and manufacturing is required
- Stainless steel + TIG welding is not required for this position, but would add value
- Must have strong technical skills including knowledge of steel, fabricating, welding, painting and finishing
- Ability to read and accurately assess blueprints and shop drawings is critical
- A high degree of reliability, accountability, commitment, and teamwork are integral for success in this role
- Must maintain a professional attitude and work well independently, as well as on a team
- Desire to grow with an expanding company
- Local to Minnesota residence within a 100 mile radius of Big Lake, MN.
Reports To: Production Manager

Pay: From $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
